Description
Crumbs is the latest issue of StoryLab Zine that focuses on exploring memory through art and literature. Edited by Artrit Bytyçi, it features stories and works by Artjola Sahiti, Beltine Syla, Casey M, Diona Kusari, and Urata Çabra.
This issue is part of the MemoryLab project and explores the concept of memory through works of nonfiction, personal essays, prose poems, and memoir excerpts. Each story is like eating a madeleine cookie that takes you back in time. Each author followa the tiny personal crumbs that lead the way to their self-discovery. In these coming-of-age stories, reflection at the past is a tool to “know thyself” and discoveries within illuminate aspects of the human condition.
In this issue, works vary in tone and mood. You can read stories about neighbourhood kids playing in the branches of an old olive tree whose rings hold centuries-old stories, a story of grief about the loss of a dear friend, one about homecoming after years of traveling abroad in search of oneself, a story about knowing thyself through the creative process, and one about coming to terms with a disease that slowly takes your sight away.
