Description

Echoes is the latest issue of StoryLab Zine which continues with the exploration of memory through art and literature. Edited by Artrit Bytyçi, it features stories and works by Anilda Ahmeti, Elona Mala, Florida Kastrati, Iden Buka, and Rita Zhubi.

This issue is part also of MemoryLab project and explores the concept of memory through nonfiction, fiction, comic book fragments, and poems. Each story is an echo from the past that keeps reverberating in the present. The personal memories are used to illustrate greater issues and struggles, and they often pit an individual against the society.

In this issue you can read stories about a dictatorship that used erasure from photographs to ensure its own survival, a tale of childhood abandonment and a search for meaning, a homecoming of a soldier who struggles to live after having witnessed the horrors of the Yugoslav wars, a satirical comic book about a super-intelligent alien baby that struggles to adapt to her new home planet, and a story about difficult love that spans across cultures.
